Pratik Parekh is the Principal Product Manager of Fusion Middleware at Oracle Corporation. Previously he was responsible for identifying new market segments and vertical opportunities and driving growth initiatives for Sun Microsystems, Inc. Application Platform Software organization. His area of focus was on middleware's role in the Cloud and is responsible in defining go to market and product strategy for Sun's Application Platform for the Cloud.
Pratik has been with Sun since 1999 and has held critical positions in SWI Product Management, Marketing and Product Engineering. In his 13+ years in the software industry, Pratik has had wide experience in identifying new business opportunities, defining and driving new product and solution strategies, designing complex software systems and managing strategic customer/ partner relationships. Prior to joining Sun, Pratik was in engineering services at Netscape assisting global enterprise customers with application architectures and design.
Pratik holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science from University of Mumbai, India and a Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu CA, where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma honors. He also has certification in advanced project and portfolio management from Stanford University, CA.
