Paul McNamara is an Entrepreneur in Residence for Cloud Computing at Adobe Systems. Previously, Paul was the chief executive officer of Coghead, a platform-as-a-service provider that enables developers to build custom applications rapidly and create and manage SaaS businesses. Paul led the company to garner a "Top 5 Web 2.0 Services" award from Webware.com and a 2008 AlwaysOn Private Companies accolade. McNamara first encountered the business concept that was to become Coghead while he was an Entrepreneur in Residence at El Dorado Ventures. So enamored was he with the potential that he not only invested in the company but joined it as CEO.
Before joining Coghead in 2005, he served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at El Dorado Ventures and held the senior vice president and general manager post at SGI. Previously, he was a key figure in Red Hat's rise to prominence and, as vice president of business development, he structured the company's industry-shaping relationships with Intel, IBM, Dell, Compaq, Oracle and others; developed Red Hat's unique business model; and, as a member of the executive team and officer of the company, helped guide the company from its early stage through its highly successful IPO.
McNamara’s 20+ years of experience in the computer industry have also included management and executive roles at SGI and IBM. Paul received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.
