Matthew excels at translating the needs of the science-based product development into powerful, easy-to-use software solutions for scientists and their management. In his role as CSO, Matthew ensures that Syapse's solutions significantly increase productivity and meaningfully impact the decision making process. Matthew has over 10 years of drug development experience across the value chain at Biogen-Idec and Roche. He has worked in safety (toxicology and DMPK), biomarker development (discovery, safety, and clinical), organizational strategy, and informatics. He has led initiatives to implement more efficient drug development processes and to create innovative software solutions that enable them. Matthew has also served in leadership roles in several industry consortia, including the Advisory Committee and Chair of the Data Analysis and Management Working Group for the Predictive Safety Testing Consortium (PSTC) at the Critical Path Institute. Matthew has a comprehensive educational background in both science and business. He has recently added dual MBAs from Columbia Business School and the Berkeley Haas School of Business to his PhD in Toxicology from the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine and BS in Chemistry from the University of Tulsa, College of Engineering. He is board certified in toxicology (Diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology) and is earning a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from the Berkeley Haas School of Business.
