Jonathan LaCour

VP, Software Products at ShootQ + Pictage

What do you get when you cross Alfred Jung and Steve Jobs? Jonathan LaCour, Pictage's Vice President of Software Products.

A Mac junkie to the core, Jonathan has been programming from a tender age, finessing his way through such programming languages as Pascal, C, and Java. After cutting his teeth with several smaller jobs and personal projects, Jonathan joined VertiSoft Corp. in 1997, thus catapulting him into the culture of "software as a service" well before it became an industry buzzword. During his long tenure at VertiSoft, Jonathan gained exposure to the Python programming language - his weapon-of-choice for many projects over the years and the force behind the beautiful interfaces Jonathan creates.

Breaking out of the geek mold, Jonathan harnessed his passion for user experience in the computer science program at Georgia Tech by taking courses in psychology, cognitive science, and education. Armed with this interdisciplinary experience, Jonathan is keenly aware of how people learn and solve problems. When combined with his encyclopedic knowledge of various programming languages, Jonathan is uniquely able to anticipate the needs of ShootQ's users and build a truly useful - and useable - interface.

When not hunkered down behind his laptop, Jonathan loves spending time with his beautiful and brilliantly creative wife, Lacey, and their two dogs, Winston and Nelson. A whiz in the kitchen, and particularly adept at grilling on his new Big Green Egg, Jonathan is always ready for a throwdown should Bobby Flay deign to stop by. Beyond his culinary interests, Jonathan spends Saturday afternoons in the fall rooting for his alma mater and the University of Miami and enjoying his favorite southern creation - bourbon.

And yet, creative inspiration and delivery don’t need to be so grand: Any mother who on the spot thinks of a clever way to distract her toddler knows this to be true.
