The General Services Administration (GSA) recently released a RFQ (Request for Quotation) for Cloud Computing. The GSA RFQ focuses on Infrastructure-as-a-Service with an emphasis on Cloud Storage Services, Virtual Machines and Cloud Web Hosting. Ameed gives an overview of this document and discusses the 3 ways in which it helps the cloud computing industry. |

President Barack Obama signed into law the sweeping US Economic Stimulus Bill including the technology communities most anticipated section, the Broadband Stimulus. The lack of cheap, ubiquitous broadband connectivity throughout the US has been a large stumbling block that has prevented technology solutions such as Cloud Computing and SaaS from being adopted by a large number of American businesses and consumers. |

Although most of the world's economies are just now beginning to feel effects of the currente economic recession, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) adoption should increase as companies cut back on large expenditures and look for ways to do more with less budget. Not all SaaS companies will survive the continuing shakeout in the industry, but those that do will gain market share and increase relevance. |

One of the more interesting solutions at the SAP TechEd was the SAP Discovery System for Enterprise SOA. It's a preconfigured bundle development environment that allows users to create composite SOA applications in a sandbox environment using technologies such as Netweaver, BI, and master data management. |
