Adrian Cole

Founder at JClouds

By Manik Surtani

Adrian and I have spent many an hour brainstorming over clouds and grid computing with a view of how open source software plays a vital role in this space, from detailed design discussions of data grid software to high performance server-grade tools to consume cloud services. API has been a large part of our discussions and Adrian is extremely skilled at making complex concepts easy to consume and will thus guarantee a high adoption rate. Some of these discussions have culminated in the jClouds open source project, which exposes cloud services as a set of high-performance, easy to use Java APIs.

Adrian's passion in the subject matter has made it easy for him to recruit contributors to JClouds, as well as drum up a lot of buzz in the community on the project. He is eloquent and well spoken in the area of cloud computing, and a skilled blogger. His credentials on cloud computing - from his background in provisioning private cloud services to large financial institutions - back up his technical abilities as a top-class engineer and technological visionary.

Manik Surtani is a Project Lead on JBoss Cache and the Infinispan Data Grid and Co-Founder and CEO at Mobot Ltd

Adrian is also a contributor on the Cargo and Infinispan Open Source Projects and a member of the Open Cloud Computing Interface Working Group.
